94th Street, SE corner - looking north
The new lane (for traffic and parking) on the east side of 2nd Avenue is now complete. Crews have just placed Jersey barriers in the middle of 2nd Avenue, in preparation for opening up the sidewalk and the roadway on west side of the avenue.

On weekends (i.e. when this picture was taken) 3 lanes of 2nd Avenue are available for traffic and 1 lane is available for parking (on the east side of the avenue.) Between 7 AM and 7 PM on weekdays no parking is permitted between 91st and 97th streets on 2nd Avenue.

The sidewalk has been removed and crews are preparing to add a new traffic lane on the east side of 2nd Avenue - where half of the sidewalk and the old curb used to be. After this is done there will be a 6' wide sidewalk, a Jersey Barrier, and a new traffic lane. This lane will be used for traffic M-F but will be available for parking on the weekends and holidays.
