Notices & Posters
Various 2nd Avenue Subway related notices and posters
in and around the work site and the neighborhood.
This official notice from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) makes reference to a citation that was issued for a hazardous condition found at this work site.
This Notice from the MTA, about controlled blasting for the Second Avenue subway starter tunnels, was sent out by Community Board 8 (via e-mail) on Friday, March 26th.
This notice was posted on the bulletin board at 93rd and 2nd.
Someone has added a few "edits" to this MTA poster.
The poster has been washed out by today's heavy rain, but here's the link to this organizations page on Facebook -- 2avtrees.org
Posted in front of 310 East 92 Street, a building which is currently under a Full Vacate Order from the NYC Department of Buildings.
Early April 2009
The sign was posted in the window of The Big Easy, a bar at 1768 Second Avenue, in early March. The bar re-opened in late April.
A Notice that has been posted in the window of
Rainbow Hardware, at 1815 Second Avenue.
Vacate orders (for the cellar only) were posted at 1772, 1804, 1808, 1830, 1832 and 1834 Second Avenue. I've been told that these orders will remain in effect until the vaults on the sidewalk are reinstalled near the end of Phase I. (The sidewalk vaults, which allowed for a 2nd means of exit from the cellar, were removed by the MTA's contractors in late 2007.
Early June 2008
This poster started to appear in the neighborhood after the Community Board 8 meeting in September. Right after the meeting I spotted about 2 dozen of them, but on the day that I went out to take pictures I only could find 2 - on 95th street.
Posted on the fence around the park at 96th and 2nd Avenue.
